Dear Families,

The day has finally arrived! I am sure your child is buzzing with anticipation and excitement for our week-long science camp at Catalina. I am looking forward to a great week of learning and adventure.

A few reminders to help your child get off to a great start:

· Have everything packed EARLY this weekend. Please do not leave it until Sunday evening. Label everything and be sure to tag all items of luggage with GREEN tags provided.

· Remember your child is allowed to have a backpack, sleeping bag and suitcase.

· Get plenty of rest, stay healthy

· Early bed on Sunday

· Be at the school at 5am Monday morning wearing your CIMI t-shirt and dress in layers.

· Give your child a big breakfast Monday morning and send him or her with a big lunch and plenty of snacks. It’s a long day before dinner.

· If you are giving your child motion-sickness meds. Do so at breakfast before coming to school on Monday.

· All items for the day are to be in your child’s backpack: i.e. cards, books, hat, sunscreen, lunch, water bottle, etc.

· No electronics!

· Don’t forget a camera

· Don’t forget: hat, sunscreen, lip balm

· Each child is allowed to bring $25 spending money. Please keep in a safe place where it won’t get lost.

· You may wish to send your child with a picture, special stuffed animal to help him or her be comfortable away from home.

When we arrive at CIMI we will contact the school and our phone – tree representative – Lara Mack. She will send group emails to update families of any pertinent information. We will also call Lara to let her know when we are in Carpinteria on Friday afternoon so parents can meet your child at the school! ETA: 6-7pm. They will be very happy to see you and share all their wonderful adventures!
