Objectives for December 8-12

Objectives
Week of December 8-12


Writing:
• Write Introductory and Concluding paragraphs
• Use good leads.
• Rough draft due Friday

Student Skills:
• Understand the structure of a word analogy
• Begin to study Latin Root Words: clud, cur, dict, duct
• Know the definition of the root word
• Be able to name words that use the root word.
• Understand what subject pronouns, object pronouns and reflexive pronouns are.
• Be able to recognize and use subject pronouns, object pronouns and reflexive pronouns in a sentence.

Social Studies:
Use Student Study Guide to study for Exam Thursday or Friday.

Science – Quiz Thursday or Friday:

• Describe the three forces that theoretically move tectonic plates:
• convection, ridge push, slab pull
• Describe types of stress that occurs in rock and when it occurs:
• compression, tension
• Describe the 3 types of folds (be able to also draw a picture of
• each)
• Explain the difference between a normal fault, reverse fault, and a
• strike-slip fault.
• Know the difference between the foot wall and the hanging wall.

Math:
• Understand vocabulary for integers, negative and positive integers.
• Be able to multiply and divide integers, add and subtract integers
• Understand coordinate planes, (x,y), coordinates, and graphing

Know how to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and dividing equations
